Technology Platform: ASP.NET with C#, MS SQL Server 2000

Our AmericaRx assignment was to deliver a complete eBusiness solution for a company that sells pharmaceutical products. It is a complete B2B and B2C portal with both an eCommerce website and an administration panel.

eCommerce Website

The AmericaRx website is user friendly, intuitive and easily adapted by the client to cater for changing business requirements. Users can search for products, or alternatively navigate by category or by brand. The shopping cart that we integrated provides flexibility, with the ability to view quickly from any page on the website, update quantities and return with one click to the online store. The payment system is secure and works seamlessly, as does the order process once payment is made.

Administration Panel: application flexibility and control

The application has been developed with flexibility and control in mind, and as such the integrated content management system allows AmericaRx employees to generate html pages themselves that fit exactly with the look and feel of the website. Dynamic menu systems can be edited and created and any new html pages are generated with the navigation path as the URL, optimizing the new page for search engine rankings. Products, categories, brands and manufacturers can be added an edited either on new html pages or on existing pages.

Product orders are tracked from the admin panel all the way from the initial order, until the product is delivered. This control is essential to maintain good customer service and deal logistics problems before the end user knows there is one.

Order receipts are and registration emails are automatically generated and emailed and additional emails can be quickly sent to users from one off emails to marketing emails, which can target users by according to previous purchases and geographic location.

In addition to the flexibility and usability provided by the admin panel, it performs a very useful business analysis function with a suite of reporting options. Reports are available on sales figures by customer, category and product over a user specified timeframe and shipping charge information is readily available.
